Néry

La Grange is the piece of music at home. Historically, we repeat songs, and I have made many of them ... This is where we will work with one who was approached about staging our show at Dejazet. Néry comes to us on a funny little folding bike ... In the years 80/90, his group, Les VRP on stage singing a version kindly crazy, "The Little wooden bridge of the River Kwai", where the dive bombers were a spell on the small bridge of the song ... At that time, the derision was in full swing, and asked the group to give my agreement on the principle of recording of this version "explosive" in a burst of pride j 'had refused to let you throw the stone further in my garden: the yard was full ... The singer was himself. Néry ... Thirty years later, for me it was time-barred, and if accepted the contact, he is also on his side of the road ...

Here is what Néry (La Croix, 16 May 2008):

COUNTERPOINT>>> Néry Catineau said Néry, author, singer, producer and director

"Far from the media appearances, the Duteil today"
"A telephone call in 2008 Danièle Molko, society Abacaba, who had already signed a few staged" We take care of an artist and we are convinced that he has to work with you ! ... Well, it's Yves Duteil ... "Silence on the phone, then I say," You know we have had disputes with him? (Yves Duteil refused a resumption of his song The small wooden bridge by VRP of Néry) "..." Yes, and he knows who you are! "..." Well, I ask others (VRP) and I'll let you know. "Everyone said, 'Do it! "Yves and I met at his home in Précy-sur-Marne.
It is in the quiet of his house and away from media appearances appeared to me that the first key of the work we planned to conduct. The man is simple, direct, mixing reserves vis-à-vis him and infatuation with things in life. It has a beautiful deep voice, a look open and grabs his guitar as we catch a gardening tool. The bet because it interested me even more to do simple and effective. I immediately told Yves that I intended to rely on two important elements to work together: the first being the prejudice of the public man that I was not the only one and then the first impression of by meeting him in the privacy of his home. I would have the opportunity to cut in all that he could send me embarrassing stage to keep only the effectiveness of words (which I found strength by dipping in) placed in a single voice, direct and precise. I sincerely hope that people who have the same prejudices as those I have had previously found the opportunity to discover the Yves Duteil today and man it can be simple. Prejudice is a simplistic version of the self-assurance, and if it agrees to its passions and certainties in the pot for those around us, so I think it comes out of gold and true human values. "(Interview by Robert Migliorini)

Here we are face to face. After a few words to evoke a smile in this episode, we went after the adventure, and I started. I sang to Néry the twelve songs on the album "(fr) agile" guitar voice, piano and vocals, "nature" without a microphone and speakers. Between modesty and shyness on both sides, exchanges were interesting, but difficult to decipher on the merits. We gradually tamed. He listened, especially. But the thread was tied. When he took over his bike, I did not know that the meeting would continue in an exciting collaboration. We talked on the phone, and the first rehearsal was scheduled with Gilles and Angelo. We ended up in the barn again, but all four, with an extra guest, discreet and silent observer, who was already looking colors for the lights of the show, Julien Bony. The team is full, with Michel Colin and sound on the board, for twenty years ...

Angelo Nery Julien Gilles

Angelo, Néry, Gilles Julien and

Ideas come. Néry brings his mischievous smile, his eyes blazing poetry and suggestions. "If we started" going "in a tension, almost cinematic atmosphere? "Angelo reflected, then plunges his head in the piano, and clamp directly on the strings like a harp. climate settles, I agree to the guitar, right hand on the strings damper. Stress, one feels instantly that night, fatigue, Nougaro side, the little girl crying in a city like rain ... I've never heard a sound like that.

For "Two children of Tamil Nadu, Gilles proposes a bass drum evokes the water ... No melody, just for a rhythmic slides along the Indian race as a chant. Incredibly effective.

All goes well, in a burst of unexpected and shared pleasure. My songs are reborn, revisited by a new musical direction, the result of a clash of parallel universes that come together in harmony. We still have to refine our choice, but the key is there. We will work together again with Gilles and Angelo. Extremely rare, a reporter wanted to attend one of our sessions tweaking, Pascal Pioppi:

"Yves Duteil in repetition" ("La Marne" 1/10/08)

"Old used for concerts (the last of the Yves Olympia) I find myself in full production phase to look at this assembly meticulous embroidery that will make this future a patched piece of stagecraft. The language surprises me. The three men understand perfectly just in snatches of sentences: "The break is made on the B1, B2 there is no ..." Curious naval battle of the bands. (...) Between these three musicians working together for the first time, there is just one partition, but also an equal distribution in the human approach, with hindsight, tolerance, listening, sensitivity, which can only lead to of intelligence. Anything that can bring people together. "(Pascal Pioppi)

After hearing a preview of the songs (fr) agile concerts Fives and Lille in 2008, read the blog since the summer of 09, all these comments on the attractive Dejazet Liege ... ... ... and soon La Cigale right now the fraternal human history lived through the development of this show ... It's too! The eye on p'tite a window to the right of the screen, I just can not click on "upcoming concerts" ... but like Sister Anne, I see nothing coming in the Nord Pas de Calais ... I 'm sure there are plenty of fans here who, having been present at the beginning of the album (the period when it was discovered the songs one by one on the blog) would like to see the "show and refined." Yesterday the concert of Liege. I had three seats to my parents and I (with the heart the memory of another place in Liège at the Theatre of the place .... It has a century-D)
Today I am still in love with this afternoon. "Turns" sang like a detective story was really a beautiful moment, the rumor as a sketch ... and so many other small beads of happiness. Songs known by heart and yet as if heard yesterday was the first time. Also a lot of emotion with this tribute to Mrs. Sevilla, when my daughter began studies teacher, the respect of so simple yet so beautiful profession maligned and devalued really moved me (to tears ... probably am I too sensitive?), yet I had already listened to this song!
Thank you again for sharing these moments with ease, especially continue to delight us (easy eh!) Silence had lasted too long ...
    Thank you

I mean, for failing to come to Cork, I hope you pass very soon again in our little country ..

Very interesting this saga, I am just discovering the work of this Néry, and I hope to see you through this tour of this production before this one does not end ..

(My apologies for my choice of words sometimes incorrect and other errors. I do not master French very well!)

Your concert at Liège was great! I absolutely agree with all the other compliments. My parents and I, we have very good time! Especially the variety of old songs and new songs performed with select your new sound was great! Besides, I think you spoke between songs very clear: I understood almost all and that's amazing! Thank you very much for this very special afternoon in Liege.

Finally: To ensure that the text that you transmit to the front of the room will be changed completely to the back of the room, I advise you to make this game as a time during a concert in the Netherlands! Although ... The text select on Liege may be interesting for many Dutch!

    Again: Thank you very much!

Friends bloggers, spin ... see this show is pure musical cuisine.

New, fresh, surprising each song. This is a new Yves Duteil I discovered in Liege.

The same ... in his way of saying the Essential, with these simple words I often wonder how they can give such a force, and then release the same force in the listener. After each concert, I understand my state of mind, the same each time: the emergency. That transmit the share of heat energy so heavily deployed to the Truth, with a large V. Let us ... love, immense, Yves Duteil was able to communicate with a bold and disarming candor.

New ... in how to deliver the songs. An envelope of light, space management and interludes, a flavor that tastes long, long after the concert. Outstanding musicians who know how to sound words, and find the right color. All.

Three words ... Thank you, congratulations and ... Encore! :-)

    Dear Yves,

What a good idea to return to the Netherlands! And as the concert will take place in South Limburg, a lot of Belgian duteillophiles can be there.
Frances thank you for calling the attention of all Dutch duteillophiles on June 12th concert in Valkenburg. These concerts are sometimes a bit hidden in the long list of concert dates.

Hopefully the weather will be nice Dutch, because a concert 'open air' is a bit fragile. But on the other side, we all know your agility fragile things, so no worries. That evening there will be new moon, giving us an intimate atmosphere. A beautiful perspective!

Greetings to all friends of the blog,
big kisses for Christmas and Yves
    in friendship,

Good evening Noëlle, good evening and good evening everyone Yves (for now, hello would be better ...)

In my last post, I wrote: "What seems to me February 12 very remote ..."
Well now, on February 12 just ended, and I have plenty of stars in their eyes!
    I'll remember from my 40th birthday ...

What a concert! What a thrill! What a joy on the stage! What complicity between the three of you! How fortunate for us, who are in the room, listening to you sing, play, and see you have fun! For it is this, it is: you have fun on stage, you are happy, and it shows. While the show is all the better!

And what a pleasure to review, after the concert, some friends of the blog and elsewhere!
Nadege, promised, I think of you: the picture is already printed and in my bag ...

Promised, I return to La Cigale (I have not found the ant ...) Saturday night ;-)

So for those who will be there Saturday to tonight, and others: soon.

Good day and big kisses to all.

Here I am back in our snowy Belgium even before leaving Saturday morning!

Mervailleux at all, ever moving, tears several times ... it flows
and laughter, peace, fun, can not really tell what was going on ....

happy to have seen so many "friends" as people who came for the first time and that's it have the "grain" as they say!

Vincianne who accompanied us, fell in love, too!

Then the moments of sharing with you all, Yvonnick, Danny, Rachel, Carola surprise, Roselyne, Josiane and others whose names I forget, but like you, I'm sure!
Thank you all for your support, your encouragement for my next few days, thank you ...

My regret, I missed Nadège and Leonora, I embrace you both.

And THANK YOU THANK YOU to you and to you Yves Noëlle for these precious moments of exchange and your humanity so strong and reassuring.
What a joy to be able to talk and share so much in few words ...

then "The Grasshopper" unforgettable and there is currently great thoughts to you that the concert must end in a triumph indescribable!

I would leave tomorrow to treat and cure me, filled with words of comfort and courage!
    thank you all.

There are days when singing the words to know I miss terribly. Like tonight, in front of my keyboard, or leaving the cicada, I as able to express what I feel and thank you for this wonderful moment "surge," the head in the stars.

For you, I will not be a look, a smile of many but for me yours is unique, precious milestone in my life.
There are others that I will treasure in my heart for years, like this one dating from 70 years:
A small theater in the northern suburbs, I had to listen to an artist singing in jeans and white shirt with his only guitar.
The atmosphere was family fun. The tender complicity between you and Noelle was palpable. A small blond family offered the program.
But there were those most magical minutes in the middle of the concert, a "little girl" he leaves the room with his friend after hearing his song to modestly hide her tears behind the scenes.

That day, I appreciated the artist but above all I had discovered and admired man.
This admiration, through your text and your personal commitment, has affirmed that over the years.

Today, I'd just listen to these songs that marked my life, but I came away enthralled.
Impressed by the man that I met 30 years ago and I found and totally subjugated by the artist.
Alas, I do not know how to use words with as much happiness as you and for fear of being fade I'll just applaud you again and thank you from the heart.

  23. February 15, 2010 at 13:39 denamiel Marie France

but if sylvie, you express very well the trouble experienced, I was also at 14.02 and since the cicada, I think, I think the texts, these little stories that touched me, which I try to read the texts on the internet to better immerse myself .. I have tears in my eyes ...
pauline at the history of such ...

Spring is such a better show, hit in the heart

... thank you again. ... and the rumor peddling all this with love

    kisses

  24. February 16, 2010 at 9:10 Sylvie (subscriber)

Marie France said "it appears most of such a spectacle."
I think the best of us, but it bogged down under the weight of life, of time passing.
Yves is just stirring the bottom of our hearts for the best blow comes to the surface.
Except maybe the days of his despair never sleeps, always open to the other.
He knows how to find the words that awakens us from the torpor, he draws his strength and greatness.

Yves, do let us never get to sleep!
