World Day of Corsica, Friday, January 9, 2009

The association invited me to participate in the "World Day of Corsica," the Senate (from 18h to 21h). by lending my voice for a song, "Maquisardes," the anthem of this "Day", and homage to Danielle Casanova (Lella), grande dame of resistance, will be celebrated the centenary on that day.
According to Dr. Edmond Simeoni, President of Corsica Diaspora "The World Day of Corsica (Friday, January 9, 2009), has not yet become a ritual, despite its third edition, and responds to a necessity because the approach is amplified and strengthened. Corsica is awakening to modernity modestly, sharing, openness to the world, probably the only way to build, to soothe and integrate with its identity in the community of cultures and people . "
In Corsica and on the Continent, Britain, China, Belgium, Puerto Rico, Tunisia, this day will bring together worldwide Corsicans and friends of the island. You are undoubtedly one of the greatest contemporary poet, and your "alliance" with the Island of Beauty is very rewarding for Corsican culture. Indeed, I heard your song (maquis) on CMFN during the World Day of Corsica and I must admit I have not heard such a wonder long. This song - although not looking like your previous works - I was very touched. Your voice seems more serious, the music is captivating and the lyrics are very sensitive. Dear Yves,
For my birthday, the 17th, my husband gave me great pleasure to offer me your last compilation 'In the air the words'. My expectations were high, because I am a frequent visitor of the blog and I had already read messages on the blog enthusiasts. But my joy exceeded all my expectations! It is incredibly wonderful to these six round brilliant. And if well cared for.
The beautiful booklet with all texts, illustrated with beautiful drawings. And these pictures ... Really, it's so nice with you bothered to put any new pictures of the man you are today. My favorite photo is the first in the booklet, which you seem to thinking, smiling, with the sweetness that we know so well of you. And yet these small intimate look in your home, I suppose. I recognize the photo of the CD 'Sing for it'.
With my heart already warmed by all this, I started listening to music. And then there began the great mystery. Yves, what did you do with these songs? Although I do not know all versions of every song, I have a pretty impressive collection and I know the songs 'by heart'. But now you have me totally surprised. Every song seems so 'today', so fresh. I feel that you sang, again, each text. The mood of each song seems so alive. You sing the words at once if thought, if weighed, as you tenderly caress your children musical ', but also a natural and easy. You put other accents on words, each song seems to live a new life! It's amazing when you consider that some songs have a respectable age. They give me, again, sometimes tearful, often a smile on my lips and, often, a big sun in my heart.
The changes I can hear, prick my curiosity. I looked in the box to find information on the recordings. But the only thing I can find is on the blog, "a revised version of the box Another look." I have the impression that it is much more than a 'simple' improved digital technology (but I could be wrong there). So, dear Yves, the question: can you, will you tell me the secret of these 'changes'?

A huge congratulations for your excellent dexterity in French! I can not believe it! As someone who has lived abroad, I know how difficult it is to master another language at this level. My other half is Danish and lives in France for over ten years, she also knows something.
Regarding your analysis of the anthology "in the air the words," I share your enthusiasm and you expressed it very nicely.

I 'know' by your frequent posts on the blog. I always read with much pleasure and attention. Your messages are deep, philosophical, and breathe human wisdom of a certain age. Go on, please!
As for me: I am not a Romanist, and then unfortunately I have not studied French. I heard 'beautiful language' while living in France with my parents for a year and a half, during the seventies. When he was fifteen and have to survive a French high school (in my case the Lycee International in St. Germain en Laye), there was really no choice.
But you're right: it's not easy. I still remember the days when my sisters and I came home from school in tears, telling our parents that we not go back more! And stories of my mother when she told us we did not want help in stores, because we did not want to listen, because of his bad French: I never forget it.
The harvest of all these experiences? Now I love the French and a French artist, you know its name. Fortunately for me Yves is a true master of the French language, with its beautiful lyrics, his subtlety, his wealth, his poetry. I want to understand what he sings and writes and then I take my dictionary to look up the meaning of words I do not know yet. It takes time, but also gives me the chance to improve my French and admire even more the wealth of songs.
Anecdote. For our visit to Paris, during a concert (fr) agile, I had promised my husband to translate all the songs. In 'The Blue Note, I did not understand a few sentences, despite my dictionaries. I put my question on the blog, in the form of a general question, thinking that the family of friends of the blog maybe someone would be kind enough to help me. I was amazed when, a few hours later, he appeared in my mail a digital response ... yes, the maestro himself! Yves had bothered to answer me and explain in a few sentences the meaning of the verse. Extremely nice.
I hope you can still hear many songs of Yves and read many of his texts. They enrich my life so much and they give me inspiration. Long live life!

Tja, België zit in een speciale Positie wat betreft talented. Zo zou het zijn als of mooi tweetaligheid verrijking een zou zijn van beide culturen, maar dat is jam genoeg (nog) niet het Altijd geval. Misschien helpt weten dat het om te st Nederlanders zijn een taal die of Franse zeer toedragen warm hart. Vaak is oefenen trouwens middel om een heel goed I taalkennis you vergroten, due gewoon doen! Success in veel Plezier daarbij.

Did you know that there is a small part of Dutch '(fr) agile'? In the songs 'If I walked into your heart' and 'Where do you live Pauline' is Fay Lovsky who plays the musical saw. Fay also plays another special instrument, the theremin.
For those who do not know: this is an electronic musical instrument that allows playing differ by the distance between the hands and two antennas. The musician does not touch the instrument.
