Pacific ... beautiful.
A few weeks ago we came back from this digression ocean but we have not really landed. There, we felt far from everything, the opposite of agitation that we had just left the mainland, in a land of France, where Parisian newspapers come when they like. Here, the news of the day is the metamorphosis of a roundabout nerve Noumea to improve traffic flow during peak hours. It is already changing the tempo, and the small island of the music starts you win. These reunions are something different, here the crisis seems less present.
Our last visit was in 26 years in 1984 on the eve of the events that would mark New Caledonia with the seal of violence, just before the crisis of Ouvea, the Matignon agreements were reached to resolve. It is in this peaceful relations between the communities that we rediscover reconciled Noumea, after flying over half the planet and landed in France at the end of the world. Jean-Claude Briault
, Caledonian government minister, opens his country with a smile so wide that only need to wear to board with him and understand his dedication, passion.
For the 4th Forum Francophone Oceania, he deployed his talent to convince more than 40 French Alliances in all of Oceania (up to Australia and New Zealand ...) to meet, some for the first time. In the Melanesian arc where the languages are so different that does not make sense from one valley to another, the French became a link between the islands, the common space between people. Book Fair, exhibition designer, round tables, Vanuatu was the guest of honor at the 2010 edition. Musically, the Conservatory of New Caledonia, led by Jean-Pierre Cabe,
had organized our concert at the close of the Forum. Public reception was at the scale of the challenge, intense, warm, emotional and musical: a string quartet from the Conservatory joined us on stage to add more fun to the party by making these concerts a real exchange, passionately orchestrated by Bruno Zanchetta, deputy director of the Conservatory.

Side curiosity, a ballad full sail on a catamaran (thank you Philippe!) Led us to the island Aregnère where we dived like a fish among the aquarium muticolores, hovering next to a turtle and shark crossed two on a massive coral reef to blue in a flower garden underwater ...
Jean-Pierre Cabe,
that has guided us throughout this shared adventure, impossible not to honor the Tjibaou Cultural Center, a masterpiece of architecture which combines tradition and creation, where Renzo Piano (architect of the Pompidou Centre, the Airport of Osaka, Aurora Tower in Sydney ...) has realized the prophetic phrase Tjibaou " The return to tradition is a myth. No people has ever lived. The search for identity, the model for me, it is ahead, never back. This is an ongoing reformulation. The identity is before us. "... An expression of recognition of the Kanak inspiration, a symbol of New Caledonia looks to the future, the Centre also brings together in a nature trail all the specific species of the island, all trees full of history, of legends and magic.
At the Isle of Pines, a 20-minute flight from Noumea, we approach the image of paradise on Earth ... The "best beach in the world" held its coral sand, the finest you can find on the planet as a cushion of air beneath our feet ... This is also where we meet the knitting striped snake placid and good natured, emblematic of the region, but the deadly poison is four times more powerful than the cobra ...
Any team found this wonderful journey, marked by friendship, discovery and exchange, with a great desire to return, despite the length of the path (24 in each direction) and the sleep since we continue, probably to help us back into the waking dream of the bracket where strikes have been converted into beaches ...
