Intimate beliefs ...
March 27, 2011 by Yves Duteil
This is a panoramic of songs, a triple album from our reunion with EMI which was for twenty years my record company (1972-1992). The first four albums of my career were still in the repertory of the house, but no lights and no real presence in stores. A young team of EMI decided to put these songs in the light, in a series of 3CD to the aesthetics and content with particular care. Happy with this momentum we have worked to make this box, and chose all the songs, illustrations, accompanied the project. Among these recordings, some are not, strictly speaking, unpublished, but remained so far from the public at the time of their appearance they can be seen as such: duets gone unnoticed that much to me as "The 'teenager' saved with Jeanne Moreau, "Melancholy" with Veronique Sanson, "At Parc Monceau" Enzo Enzo ", and mingling with the original versions of the most famous songs that punctuate this course until today.
After almost forty years of songs, the time has probably come to ask a new look at what might appear, by the sweetness of his voice, calm music, as an idealist or truncated view of reality that surrounds us. Often the texts are in counterpoint to the sweetness activist for the expression of a refusal (duet with Lisa "Me I refuse"), revolt ("For the children of the world", "Dreyfus"), or a breath precursor ("The language of home '). Gradually appears a mosaic assembly of feelings and emotions that make the front page of our diary, our commitments, our aspirations. These songs reflect the key moments that mark our journey, these moments of truth who build our eyes like so many benchmarks, intimate convictions ..
INTIMATE BELIEFS, 3 CD box set, out April 4, 2011
I REFUSE ME
(Duet with Lisa)
Because my life is just beginning and I hope
Able to grow in hope and light
Because I saw in your eyes
Too much distress and too much hope
And I wear as fear in my story
I want to talk with words that I understand
I wisht that I loved and listened to me and that I learn
I want the truth I want the tender
If one claims that we must wait
I'm confused
But if that's
I refuse
On behalf of the same blood flowing in our veins
I want to share your faith, not your hate
Native born Algerian
Bosnian Afghan or Tibetan
I am the sister of those who strike or that binds
Before these wars that are repeated ad infinitum
Sometimes I am ashamed for my brothers and say to myself
That whether to flee their own land
And live elsewhere in foreign
Like an intruder
So it is clear
I refuse
I'm not afraid of the future and I'm ready
To confront all the demons of the world
With all the strength of my age
With my heart and my language
Provided one loves me
So I go and I agree
What if you could have my rage to convince you
And beat me to know that we can overcome
I could even imagine
With words to invent
Restore Hope in the heart of the most desperate
Because if your life is just beginning and if you dream
To rebuild this world before it ends
If I have drawn in your eyes
So much happiness and so much hope
That's tear down the walls that separate us
That's we're talking with words that you understand
To ensure that we listen to you and we teach you
But for real, but for tender
And if it's too hard to hear
So too bad
I'm confused
But I refuse
And if the face of adversity
Such water-in locks
The song of souls recluses
Monte also to freedom
We apologize
But I refuse
To abandon,
We apologize
I refuse
To abandon.
"But I refuse" words and music Yves Duteil

VERY DEAR FRIENDS,
In your message is never the "I" so common in months, we feel how much you enjoy working with your FRIENDS and NOELLE.
In a column of this BLOG you had once said that you agreed to revolt but you GENTLE and you express it very well in your post telling us the edition of three CD-The soft music and your voice so beloved by all your friends sometimes cover words VERY STRONG ... All your text should be ECOUTES sentence by sentence, word by word, all your songs should be HEARD more HEARD qu'ECOUTEES and must be silent and asked the spirit! I always indentation when you said you were "A NICE TROUBADOUR" and that you are putting up "LABELS" .... YVES yourself you were protested against the box in which you wanted to, (and especially you leave)
TOULON this morning in the rain, but it's rare drops down on the glass gently, slowly to join those who preceded them to a small puddle on the patio. Sunday was a morning "OR WHEN THE DAY RISES ON WANTS TO RETURN ANY BOTTOM OF A DREAM" ... I took your album "fr'AGILE" silent for two months and my tears have imitated the raindrops listening to "TWO CHILDREN OF TAMIL NADU" and "MY EARTH HUMAN" .... JAPAN ... The war triggered LIBYA IS FAST .... I wondered if you did not want two weeks off howling with rage ...
Fortunately "IF I WAS YOUR WAY" made me think of my little son, "IT DOES NOT SLEEP" to my mother who acted as the inspiration for your song (NOELLE course) when the whole family was reunited under his
roof .... And "If I walked into YOUR HEART" so beautiful text "YOU Me Gone" .... My day was softened by your voice.
I noticed that you had fewer concerts scheduled. Sit especially after trips last year (what a wonderful surprise to see you on a beach in the ISLE OF PINES where we were with my husband 37 years ago ...) so you rest after your accident, enjoy NOELLE , all your family and friends BUT WE DO NOT GIVE UP!!!
In one of your concerts with JP Marcellesi ANTIBES you said you were smugglers .... we were all smugglers! You were right: I realize more and more in this world goes crazy in every sense our children forget DREYFUS, JAURES forget or are unaware of the departments of our beautiful "BUISSONNIERE FRANCE". We need books (dubbed film) as "Sarah's Key" so that they reflect on the horrors of 7O just last year ...
We have to remember Jean Ferrat who had retired BUT that was in our hearts and our memories: his revolts AND magnificent love songs ...
YVES stay with us! young people need from you: the text of the song above MUST READ, MUST BE HEARD!!!! certainly as all those on the three CD!!
THANK YOU, you will awaken hearts, illuminate the consciences discouraged nor vulgarity IT WITHOUT VIOLENCE: THE RIGHT WORD with OR SHOULD
I was silent but I regularly opens the BLOG: life is sometimes so heavy and you know that you just lost a very dear friend who has gone to put his name on the schedule of "anniversaries" ....
THANK YOU - COURAGE and SOON
ROSELINE - TOULON
Dear Yves,
Thank you for putting "I refuse" as "a prelude" to the presentation of this case and the jubilation and excitement that awaits us on April 4th, the eve of a painful family birthday ...
Again, if we had to put a framework to continually renew the word "thank you" it's you that I would not hesitate at all to the first one. Just a year ago when you came in Nuits Saint Georges, and we met again, with emotion, I was able to tell you that "I refuse" was my good luck charm. A year later, it has not changed. "The prison wall opposite" has just changed the musical colors, but in this path of "intimate conviction", each of us find healing and serenity very personal, accompanied by female artists such as I ended up loving thanks to you Yves.
I embrace you. Nicolas (Portland)
Noelle Hello, Hello Yves,
What a great idea! Put in light of such duets which had been overlooked, and that I had particularly liked. They are all beautiful. "Melancholy" in public, it is a wonder, In "The girl", Jeanne Moreau, is still as beautiful, and hear Véronique Rivière in "the prison wall opposite ', c' were also there really beautiful.
It should be remembered that these duets you registered at a time when nobody, or almost no one had yet done. Today it is commonplace and radios do not hesitate to remind us .... So I hope with all my heart that he will be the same for you .... Hope ...

I saw two albums compiled ds are released! I have "my calls" home. Find "with people in my village" is strange and it's bcs of gloom I resents. Replace "bends" sung at the concert well done!
So very happy with this third album with beautiful duets, beautiful tributes ... and that's right, you are one of the first to inviting friends, camardes singing! Liane Foly Enzo Enzo: strong, good, sweet voice .. good continuation.Je continues to wait for your radius in fnac, virgin ..
kisses to you 2
It's always a pleasure to (re) discover one of your texts. "But I refuse" beautifully restores your revolt, one that rumbles and you expressed in your verses, but some, deafened by the din of the exuberant world of today, no longer able to perceive.
The lyrics of this song resonate even stronger in me, it affects me personally. For how to accept the unacceptable? How can we accept to see my own son sent into the Libyan jolt, if not to allow the voice "of reclusive souls to climb to freedom"?
A week ago I saw the announcement of your book with the words available from April 12, today I have the answer to my questions. It's great! I have your album between them and me that I love. I can not wait to discover this set.
Sincerely,
Line, Trois-Rivieres (Quebec)
Hello there,
Pleased that EMI has new links (Belgian Humor) ...
You should feel less alone ... again.
I bought pre-order on the internet "Intimate convictions." I never fail to buy your discs when they are released.
I'm glad the EMI team to be remembered.
That this triple CD allows new people to be interested in you.
Hello Yves, Noelle Hello, Hello,
Last Sunday on RTL, and presenting "Intimes Convictions," Vincent Perrot reminded listeners that soon you will celebrate your 40 year career, Yves expensive. Almost perfect scores achieved by the three songs played once again amazed ...
I am always amused by the kind of astonishment perceptible sound of their voices, that this situation creates in radio hosts or television. And yes ... 40 years later, not only are you still there, although on stage and especially in our hearts, but you continue to create and you are certainly not confined to the role of guardian of the temple of your past works. This is perhaps what troubles most of the game media buffoons: in short, equal to yourself, you know, however, surprise us always, and always want more of those who follow you so long.
The recent comments of Jean-Pierre Pasqualini on "Tele Melody" during the replay of "Number One" from 1978 that you had spent Maritie and Gilbert Carpentier was no exception to the rule of astonishment that one wonders if would not end up being feigned as it seems too conventional. Yes the tall young man who fell shy eye to respectfully Georges Brassens is still there: we find a smile, clear eyes ... but it has also changed, and well, without denying or contradicting himself.
This is probably what is the hardest part of show business: how to cross time without yielding permanent fashion, with the courage (some would say unconscious) to "swim against the tide"? It's not so easy, except to send to awaken more than passing interest in a public changing inclination. It makes me suddenly think of besides Jacques Martin, and the little ritual phrase he threw his guest (s) when he was forced by the latest musical to receive in his Sunday program a new glory which momentary success seemed little deserved, "Enjoy your stay in the world of song." Master Jacques was rarely wrong, and "stay" was often very brief!
So there is a side shooting stars, those who collect the fans temporarily distracted, unsuspecting to the idea that they will cast their idol yesterday when the plumage or song to another will seem more beautiful, and then the other, there are those who know us reach beyond the mere appearance, but for a long time, and whose songs mark our lives as so many white stones.
This is exactly your case, dear Yves. Nobody goes into your songs by accident, but it's not a coincidence that we have done our your musical universe. It was a bit obvious, just because, far from being reduced to an idealistic vision of the world, your "Intimate Beliefs" are also very often our own. Far from remaining frozen out of time, you often several steps ahead, and something tells me that although many people are now realizing suddenly ...
Enjoy the rest of Sunday to all,
Big Hugs to Yves and Noelle.
Helen.
My Dear Yves,
As I watch from near very near the release of albums I had seen the publication of this book long before its release in stores, so I ordered before it was even on sale.
I must say you've always been ahead of the time with your tunes, and I must say it is a wonder to hear or rehear such masterpieces, its sound is beautiful and it looks like you sang it yesterday morning and I recommend this article to lovers of the beautiful French song texts as we rarely see these days, fortunately we still Yves Duteil to dream and know that the French chanson the real n is not dead, not yet so thank you to you and the teams that have had here a very fine idea to release three CDs with a nice mix to that song should always be whether the money and common sense were not now with the factory master of pseudo stars who do not sing have nothing to say but that sell well at the time publicity stunt by a title and then goes away, you will remain your songs that's what is the right song, quite a difference.
Let me kiss you warmly and loudly and your wife Noelle and especially continue to enchant us with your melodies and words of your heart.
Soon a loyal admirer of always.
Arielle POECKER Toulon
Haphazard morning!
This morning, with the other half of Uon heart, we take our breakfast on the terrace, facing a sea of oil, and already a nice sun, thinly veiled by a haze of heat .... (privilege retirees ...)
Many bird songs, and suddenly, THE SONG OF THE CUCKOO! The first spring! In Corsica, it is a good luck charm ....
The TV is on in the living nearby, to enable us to hear the news, and suddenly, almost simultaneously with the cuckoo, a voice, a song that I recognize fast!
I'll see, it's Yves, in a very nice ad for his latest compilation!
Then I realized that the cuckoo was a messenger of happiness ... Finally, it is my belief (intimate, of course!)
"... No longer have fear ..."
Beautiful day!
Hi Yves, and Noelle,
Wonderful idea to bring up to date songs that we, the "experts" (in all modesty), sing and love forever. Duets that marked because the choices were appropriate to the voice, personality and soul of their interpreters. I take a few words of Véronique Rivière in his song "Yesterday": "I love him very much, I love it as well."
In my closet at the office and has been for many years, I pin some of your text (I change from time to time depending on the mood, the moment). Those who come have to wait and are always surprised to discover, without having heard in the media texts that are sometimes strong snorkeling, which make them smile, that make them think, in short, who do not leave indifferent. I am always very proud to say how you are the Author to be discovered again and again, how you are indispensable in the creation of the landscape, how you are an alien!
Speaking of extra you have at Spa in July 2011: I'm getting ready already ... But where the Earth blocks me a little is that you do not specify to what a place! Can you help me? I thank you in advance.
I wish you the best as always and I close the door gently to the next to enter ...
I hug you with all the sincere friendship and respect I have for you. The mother of Mary Marvel
bonjour.Je do not know the song I refuse, I'm very happy I maintenant.je have a question, why live Yves often takes the Parc Monceau or the prison of Children and other never very beautiful songs such as Weaver, Jonathan, in the water by its silences ex.merci for reponse.Françoise

DEAR YVES
WHAT JOY TO LISTEN "INTIMATE BELIEFS"
to find your voice.
Your songs have staked my life with its good and bad times, but when it's raining in my heart, I put one of your disks and the sun comes back again.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU ARE.
I was lucky a few years ago to talk with you at the Olympia, a few minutes of humanity sharing thank you.
Loving thoughts
MARIE CLAIRE
Admiring your deep sensitivity and touching your discretion, I hardly dare to slip into your blog, I discovered, for fear of disturbing them. This song is superb.
Thank you for being who you are, a person who has heart.
Sincerely.
Dear Yves,
I stumbled across the box and with joy <>. I had a lovely little boy in January, and being an expatriate in Spain, I wanted to find my baby very French children's songs. I must say that I was raised with your songs (I think the album was called <>): Take a child by the hand, the small wooden bridge, opera ... What a joy to find them! Now I fall asleep almost every day my son, taking him in her arms and singing all these songs that take me back to my childhood.
So thank you for sharing all your feelings and emotions in your songs.
It's beautiful. They are beautiful words. Thank you Yves. I hasten to copy them onto a sheet of paper to ponder further.
"But I refuse! "
That this is a title that helps to think!
Words, words to help them grow.
A choir I belong, my family ... Heart choir whose members currently are torn ... In this paper, I draw from the words that I timidly tried to sound.
"Before these wars that are repeated ad infinitum ..."
yes, I refuse to give up when I know all the wealth that lies within all of them because
"The same blood flows in our veins" ... oh yes, music, singing together.
"Shoot down all these walls that separate us ..."
not just words, acts to be!
"Whether we apologize I refuse to give up."
Yves thank you for this wonderful text that I had only flown; depth I had not heard, listened to because it probably was not the time for me to live? And yet ...
I hope this song will rise to the hearts being close to that I will pass the word. Perhaps he will spring a new freedom? bring hope to desperate ... "What if you could have to convince my rage ..." it's true, that despite my age (but is there an age?) ... "I go and I m undertakes ... "
Well what a day I'll move!
Between writing without hurting, share the wealth of ideas and this song, loop, pass me ...
May your day be beautiful to you.
