On returning from our tour in Japan on July 16, I made myself a joy to join you at Spa for the July 21 concert at the Francofolies today. A 36 ton truck has decided otherwise. The shock was brutal, even if we did not run fast. I decided to come anyway, despite a broken rib and a severe back pain, and I put a point of honor to fulfill this appointment, which was to me a symbolic side since I made my first steps at Spa in 1974, winning the Audience Award and the Best Song. I've never forgotten.

But I have to face facts, I will not be able to offer the show, given that pain is necessary, and the broken rib my breath to sing. It will take me a little longer to get over the shock, and it is with regret that I had to bring myself to abandon the concert, rare event in my career.

This is only postponed, I will make every effort to get well as quickly and forget the incident that deprives us of this meeting ...

Nice surprise in Montreal, the Gesu: Gilles Vigneault attended the first concert of the tour. An opportunity for me to honor him in public: the masters of the pen are not so many ...

An Unforgettable Experience ...

On the road Sept-Îles to Trois Rivieres (700km) we do not know which way the eyes. Between the St. Lawrence River which borders the forest like a loss of sea view and many lakes that appear in the top of the ribs, the beauty is everywhere. The tops of the trees packed like a carpet interspersed with bubbling waterfalls that line the north shore. It is imposing. I have not brought my camera and my phone can not make light of these visions depth dazzling, powerful. Julien our lighting designer, has taken his Nikon ... Here, nature is omnipresent, overwhelming. The pioneers of this new world had to be rough men to the task, strong souls. Seven million today on an area seven times that of France. A colossal work. Faced with this challenge, we feel both felt a ent of humility. The show is permanent. Come sing in Quebec and Canada is a special moment for me, a good game. The relationship that has blossomed over the years has fed us all the emotions shared. Some songs we have connected as a family. We worked there for several months with a small team of enthusiasts: Moulou Patrick, who built with us, Patrice Jania (statements guitar) and Michel Leclerc (statements piano). Its subtitle ("The little secret guitar Yves") suggests a very technical area of personal, sometimes creating the sound, and explains the empirical method, craft, instinctively, that guided me in inspiration ... and writing two books in one, head to tail, which we added seven titles for older fans who want to update to "Take a child," The language of home, "" Children of the World over, "" Your absence, "" The prison wall opposite, "" At the Parc Monceau "or" Melancholy "... I have always studied piano and guitar as an amateur (one who loves "means ...). Read music is to me a superhuman effort, but accessible.
